ReplyDeleteJimmy's father James Seeger, Sr. is the only one that knows what happened to the bat that Jimmy used to beat up Arturo. Mr. Seeger broke the bat & buried it in a place nobody can find it. The mother of the two El Salvador boys, Gloria Cortez, went to the states. The first thing she did was hug her only son and Carlos tells her that Arturo died. Ms. Cortez broke down and cried. The book was really nice. I liked it because Skylar did the right thing. Her father was waiting for her at the court. He was talking to their lawyer and the lawyer was telling him why she was doing it and that Skylar better show up. Their lawyer walks in to talk to the other lawyers. Mr. Thompson was freaking out with the fact that Skylar hasn't shown up yet. Then he waited for her scanning the parking lot. Then he was about to lose hope, there she was coming up. The ending was nice, even though she was going to go against her boyfriend, she knew that her father will always be by her side. I liked it, it was a good book.
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
ReplyDeleteWhere we left off Brian successfully making the fire. The next pages of the story talks about Brian being really happy that he made a fire naturally by himself. He could not at first leave the fire there because it was so precious to him. It was like a victory to him. He could use a fire to get make a smoke signal for a nearby plane and would see the smoke and he will be rescued. Then he noticed he was running out of wood and the fire was burning out fast. He went into the woods saw some pines and chopped out several dead limbs of wood with his hatchet and brought it back to camp. It was 6 feet tall from its base. For the smoke signal to work he needed more wood to make a long and big signal of smoke. He needed to be prepared for this kind of work. He had no more food, but thought he look for more tomorrow. It was already night time and sunset. He slept through the night and still had fire beside him. He kept feeding the fire with wood and thought of the plan of tomorrow.
It was already late at night and then he heard something, not a smell but a sound outside of his man-made house. He saw footprints of a turtle and dug a hole and found the eggs. He thought of food and his survival. He had never eaten a turtle egg, maybe it tasted like a regular egg. He tried one egg and tasted good. He then ate more and got the rest of the eggs to his shelter and placed them in the sand of the ground. He can save them for a while. Morning came and thought of fish and in the lake to catch them with a spear. Then a few days later a tornado hit his house and destroys his limb house . The next day he constructed a new house with stronger wood and leaves weaving around it. He was very happy of his work. He remembered of a rescue pack and a survival kit in the plane under the lake and got it. He took the GPS transmitter and on it. A plane came and noticed the signal transmitted. Brian had lots of food from the pack with canned and plane food. The pilot came and rescued him. It had been nearly two months since his crash. He was happy that he was rescued and that hatchet helped him a lot without it he would not have survived in the woods.
The outsiders
ReplyDeleteIn the ending of his story, Johnny breaks his back from saving the kids from the burning church. He then end up at the hospital for awhile and dies from his injury.
Then Dally dies by pointing a empty gun at the police. Two-Bit then tells Ponyboy that he and Johnny have been declared heroes for rescuing the kids, but Johnny will be charged with manslaughter for Bob's death. He also says that the Greasers and Socs have agreed to settle their turf war with a major rumble.
The greasers won the rumble, but ponyboy was still depress from all of these events.
he returns to school, but his grades are dropping in English, the teacher give him a chance to pass, by writing a decent theme, so he writes about the book Johnny gave him before he died. I find this story very interesting, seeing how these people change from all these events. Also shows that family and friends are important in your life.
In the end of “Clean by Amy Reed,” Olivia had a seizure where all of her friends witness it. It showed that they really care about each other even though most of the time Olivia was usually be on her own. They were always with her all the way.
ReplyDeleteAfter what happened, everyone in the group was worried about her. They were even more pissed off at Olivia’s mother. She was the reason why Olivia could have die.
As Olivia was in the hospital, she decided to write a letter to each of them explaining that she was okay. Also how she still wants to keep in touch with everyone.
For Jason, he’s going to military school.
So basically, the novel ended with Olivia’s letter on how she will miss them.
DeleteAs for my opinion, I really like it. Due to the fact that now a days, teenagers always think it’s always have to be me, me and me. They don’t really like to think about others and how they would feel. Which can lead to fights and problems. Sometimes having too much attention can lead to situation.
The most characters that pissed me off were the parents, because it was their responsibility to guide their children but instead they just get drunk. Also the fact how one of the parent made their child take diet pills. It shows that her mother doesn’t except her own daughter.
The Hate List by Jennifer Brown
ReplyDeleteWhat basically happens from where we left off until the end is "the shooting" Nick goes around school shooting people for reason and fro none . Many people get hurt . Many people even die , but people were even saved . Valerie jumps in front of the gun and takes a bullet to the leg for Nick to stop and he does . He turns to gun to himself and shoots himself . Toward the ending of the story Valerie starts to get close to the girl who she saves (Christy) The girl she hated so much . Christy and Valerie started eating lunch together and even hanging out more . They even were in a committee together . The committee was having a memorial for all the people who were injured and have lost their lives . Valerie was kind of against it at first , but at the end she even speaking at the memorial .
I highly suggest that everyone read this book . Different perceptions for everyone .
Envy by Gregg Olsen
ReplyDeleteOkay guys lets skip to the last part. The last part pretty much ended on how they found out that it was Starla and her mom that was messaging Katelyn. They wanted to get back at her for telling on Starla at school about her being under the influence smoking and alcohol usage that’s why she was depressed. They ended up telling the police what happen and going to jail. Also, how Katelyn died, No one actually killed her. Everything was an accident and Starlas brother was there to prove it. He entered the bathroom and Katelyn freaked out. Katelyn was telling her to get out but when she tried standing reaching for the towel. She slipped and the towel pulled the espresso off the table onto the tub and she was still in it.
The book was okay for me; it wasn’t all that great but whatever. It got intense cause it’ll make you really curious on what really happen. It ended dumb though, least show that someone really tried to kill her. The accident things are just to common, but I guess. Overall, the book ain’t that bad. K, bye!
The Great Gatsby
ReplyDeleteI will quickly summarize the remainder of the story. Tom Buchanan finds out that his wife, Daisy, is having an affair with Gatsby. Tom is furious even though he is having an affair himself. He confronts Gatsby about it in New York. Daisy and Gatsby leave in Gatsby’s car. Myrtle, the lady Tom is having an affair with is killed in a hit and run. They later find out that Daisy was driving the vehicle that struck Myrtle. Gatsby wants to take the blame for it. Tom tells Myrtles husband that Gatsby was the driver of the car. George then goes to Gatsby’s mansion and shoots him then kills himself. Nick plans a small funeral for Gatsby. Nick then looks back at everything that has happened.
I’d suggest people to read this book because it has an interesting plot. I didn’t even know what the story was going to be about until I was halfway through the book. My favorite character would have to be Nick. He narrates the story but focuses on the other characters of the story. The love that Gatsby had for Daisy was interesting. I mean, he took the blame for Daisy when she ran over Myrtle! It’s fun trying to picture what the characters in the story would look like in real life. Overall, the book was a fun read and everyone should read it.

ReplyDeleteSo Brady finally tells the truth and now they have to come up with a way to do the process carefully. I was glad that Brady told the truth, but it a bit late and was a bit afraid that he was gonna get in trouble too. I was bit relieve that Brady didn`t get in trouble for begin apart of the idea. I thought a lot was gonna go down at the trail, but everything went good. Surprised that Digger and J.T. didn`t try to blame or drag Brady down with them. I was sad and glad that J.T. and Digger went to juvenile services for their sentence. If you can`t do the time then don`t do the crime like they always say in police and court shows. I thought it was weird as everything seemed to go back to normal after the trail.
I would suggest people to read this book, because it has a great story. I thought that Brady or his family had something to do with it, but it was actually his friends. My favorite character would probably be Brady, because I don`t think even I would know what to do if I was in that situation. I saw where he was getting from trying to protect his family and his friends. I didn`t like how he let his friends drag him down too, because if that was me I would go to the cops. I thought it was easy to picture the scenes and characters in the book. Overall, I think the book was great and people should read it too.

PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS THE DEMIGOD FILES
ReplyDeleteBY:RICK RIORDAN
SO YOU KNOW HOW I SAID THAT THE THREE DEMIGODS WERE GOING TO WAR? WELL THEY DIDN'T, THEY WERE BROUGHT TOGETHER BY PERSEPHONE NICO STEP MOTHER HADES WIFE. THEY WERE SUMMON TO FIND HADES SWORD OR AT LEAST HIS SWORD THAT HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT BECAUSE PERSEPHONE MADE IT FOR HIM IN SECRET. SO THEY GO INTO A FEW BATTLES BUT IN THE END THEY GET IT.
THEN IN THE LAST CHAPTER IT SAYS THAT THEIR REALLY GOING TO GO AT WAR.SAD THING IS THAT IT'S ON PERCY'S BIRTHDAY.
THIS BOOK WAS REALLY INTERESTING, OR AT LEAST FOR THE ENDING. IT WAS A GOOD ENDING, BUT I WANTED TO READ IF THEY WOULD SAVE OR DESTROY THE WORLD.

In the ending of this book, Davy has been living the normal life. He has a love life. He does not use his powers for bad anymore, he uses it for good. This book is very interesting. In a way i got so confused in some chapters, because he was jumping from places to places, talking about so much things all at once.
I like it though. It really opened my mind alot. It kept me reading. I look forward to the next book im going to read.
