As she drove off of the milk shake place, she thought about where to go next. She held the steering wheel as tight as she could with her cold, freezing hands. She still couldn't believe what her mom told her, and what she have heard in the radio. Alice continued driving until she didn't know where exactly she was at. She thought about everything;his dad, the unfamiliar caller ID, the disks, the strange man, the email and the murder. Alice had many questions in her mind. She kept driving and saw a familiar mall.
Alice then drove into the small entrance of the mall's parking lot, and parked her dad's Corvette. She was careful into parking the car because of her dad. She sat inside the car and thought about everything again. Alice thought that maybe the disks had something to do with his father's job and even the murder. A van came and parked next to her dad's Corvette and it was a woman smoking. The woman then left and went inside the mall. Alice then thought about going inside the mall to shop because she its her stress reliever. So she took the path the woman took and went inside the mall.
(True Believer By: Virginia Euwer Wolff) From pages 46-60, a lot of things start to progress with La Vaughn's life. After signing up for a Grammar Class in school, she decides that she needs a job. She's pretty set at where she's at right now with Jody coming back, but at the same time, she hasn't lost her main goal for college. She decides that she needs a job in order to make some more money. She talks about her past jobs such as being a janitor and being a part-time clerical. Fortunately, she is able to find a job at "The Children's Hospital" where she is interviewed and accepted for the job. Her job is to help fold and wash bed sheets for the little children. Knowing that the children will have fresh sheets to sleep on made La Vaughn feel good. She was so happy to the point that she decided that she wanted to do something good for somebody.
Therefore, she decides to buy Myrtle her friend a pet cat. After buying the cat, Myrtle and Annie leave to go to their Bible session and La Vaughn is still uneasy about them going to the meeting. La Vaughn heads home to do her homework and wonders and imagines how it would be to have Jody as her boyfriend.
La Vaughn then reveals that the next week of school, she has been switched out of her current science class with Myrtle and Annie. She is told that she needs a higher science class in order to be prepared for college. She then agrees and enters her Biology class and realizes that everything is different. She's very confused and lost because she's never learned about stuff such as mitosis. La Vaughn meets a new student named Patrick and realizes that her and Patrick are very lucky to have been moved up to a higher science class.
On the pages of forty-six to sixty, Jonas goes through the process of becoming a twelve. He shares his thoughts on the ceremony of all the age groups. Tells us about how long or fast each age group goes. Shares with us, which group he likes the best. He also describes how each age group is different from the last. Apparently, the community can tell which age group a child is in just by what he/she is wearing. In my opinion that's pretty cool.
Towards page sixty, Jonas is already apart of the ceremony. Jonas is number twenty-three in his age group. As they go down the line of calling each child up to know their assignment (jobs), they also give a little speech or tell a little story about each child. As they keep calling name by name, Jonas noticed that he was skipped. Jonas felt embarrassed. But after they called everybody in his age group, they finally called up Jonas. This is when the announcer tells everybody in the community that Jonas was not chosen, but "selected" to be the Receiver. Jonas was very surprised. In my opinion, I kind of thought he was going to get released for doing something wrong. In book it says that he has done minor mistakes, but there's a limit to making mistakes. But I was wrong, he was the next Receiver.
Looking for Alaska In pages 46-60, Miles watches his first basketball game, not just of Culver Creek, but his first ever. He learns about the team and how they pretty much suck. There, he and the Colonel encounter Kevin, a Weekend Warrior. Kevin attempted to call it truce, but Miles and the Colonel denied.
The setting now taking place in October, Miles woke up to something so off from other mornings. It was cold outside. After such hot days in Alabama, the cold morning got him a great fresh start to his day. At school, he meets Lara from Russia. Miles found her attractive even with her thick accent with her i's pronounced like 'theese.'
A few days later, Miles learns how Alaska got her name. She tells him that when he was little her parents couldn't decide what to name her so they let her decide. When she was too young to think of a name for herself, they called her Mary. Then on her 7th birthday, her present was to get to pick her name. She spent that day looking at her dad's globe. Then there she got Alaska. Why? Because it was big and far away from Alabama just like how she wanted to be. As the two talked, getting to know each other, they got pretty close, physically. Alaska talking so softly, Miles leaned in towards her. He almost leaned in closer to kiss her, but she snapped out it and exclaims "No!", continuing to talk about the labyrinth, something she takes great interest in.
Towards page 60, Alaska plans a triple date. Alaska and her boyfriend, Jake; the Colonel and his girlfriend, Sara, and Miles with a girl Alaska set him up with, Lara.
In page's 46 she talk's about her cousin's baptism and how her mom tells her to keep the door close till she get back. she reminds her mom to buy her shoes but, her mom forgets to buy the shoes she asked for. In pages 49 she talks about the boys who would wait for her at the front of her house. her friend Lucy tells her that she better have a boyfriend because if she doesn't she might just turn into a boy or something. The pages 53 she talks about getting a job because she had to because her parent couldn't afford to pay for her private school. I think that the book that im reading is a good book to read. i like it cause its a good book to read for like sophomore's they should like it because its a really good book to read for them.
In pages 46-60, Nick and Jordan Baker were at Gatsby’s Palace for a party. He was given an invitation from Gatsby’s Butler. While they were enjoying the party, Jordan wondered why they’ve never seen Gatsby. They say he might have killed a man or something like that. They go to Gatsby’s library and meet a man who claims to have been drunk for a week and that staying in the library might help him sober up. The Drunken man began to talk about how the books were real and alive. They leave the man and set out to the Veranda. There, a man claims that Nick looked familiar and asked him if he was in the Third Division during the war. Nick says yes, and that he was in the Ninth machine-gun battalion. The man was in the seventh infantry. They begin to talk about the villages they were in during the war until the man asks him if he would to go out with him to ride his new hydroplane. He asks what time and the man says, “any time that suits you best.”
Jordan then came and asks them if they’re having a gay time. Then a lot of words later that I can’t remember go by when suddenly, the man that Nick was talking to says, “I’m Gatsby.” They were both surprised. Nick apologized and Gatsby said it was okay. A few paragraphs later, Gatsby’s butler said to Miss Baker that Gatsby would like to have a moment with her. They took for an hour. She says she has something interesting to tell Nick and to call her. As they were leaving the party, the drunk man from the Library crashed into Gatsby’s’ wall. He says that he wasn’t even trying to drive. I think he’s crazy. The book is beginning to make more sense and is becoming much more interesting.
Basically this part, everybody is still talking about what happened that Friday night. The cops are still calling Skylar to know if she will go to the police station and answer questions. Skylar is so lost she doesn't know what to do or who to listen to. She really wants Jimmy out of jail. Skylar's best friend Lisa keeps telling her that "Everybody knows. Nobody's talking." Skylar wants to go visit Jimmy. She calls Jimmys house and his father answers. He tells Skylar to go visit Jimmy and tell him that everything will be okay. She is the only one that can give Jimmy hope.
One of the El Salvador boys that got beaten up is at work. He stopped by to get his check. He told himself that he will get revenge on the people that beat them up. His mother was coming that day and she doesn't know that her eldest son died. Because the beatings were just too much.
Skylar goes back to the place where the incident happened. She saw the boy that got beaten up that night. She stayed in her car and watched his every move. She wanted to go to him and apologized for what happened. She regretted the fact that she didn't do anything to stop it. The boy was in the bus stop and Skylar was just a few feet away. Instead she just sat there and thought of what would happened if she did get down. So she kept saying sorry and drove away.
“Clean by Amy Reed” Okay, at this point each character are writing about “ How old were you when you first used or drank? Tell the story, and how you felt?”
Jason: He was nine or something when he first started. His dad had some Navel friends over and Jason wasn’t allowed to be in the same room as they were. Somewhat on that day, Jason got caught but wasn’t kicked out of the room. Instead his dad gave him a beer and told him to drink it. Ever since that day, Jason was a man because his dad was proud of him for drinking the beer.
As for Olivia, she never drank or done any real drugs. But she was addicted to diet pills. Due to the fact that when she was 14 years old, her mother decided that she was too old for baby fats. So she (Olivia’s mother) got her doctor to write a prescription for diet pills to give to Olivia. Because they were so rich that the doctors would give them any prescription.
Eva: She was just in the ninth grade. As she was walking, she noticed people across the street from school. At that moment she noticed that they weren’t like the others. They were smoking, laughing and having a good time until they notice Eva. So they called her over and showed her something new. It was weed.
In the next pages of 46 t0 60 Brian robeson is stick in the woods and doesn't Know what to do at first. He knows that the rescuers are not coming and will try to make the best of it on what to do. He tries to make a fire because it was cold in nightime and learned to get food and cook up food. He get sticks and dried leaves and tried to make fire but nothing really worked. It Was frustrating for him and got mad. Then He noticed that when threw the hatchet at the rocks from the porcupine attack last night he noticed the rocks sparks from the rocks. He tried another time then it actually work several times he tried. He was happy when the fire came and ignited the wood.
He needed more wood for the fire and used his hatchet to get more.Without his hatchet he would not have got the fire and the wood.He was very lucky that he had that hatchet and will not lose it from his mom.Next he tried to find wood and food to eat in the next days. He tried making spears and arrows with bows to try to catch fish and wild animals. His fish was to fast for him And rememebered something in science class that water bends light and knew he had to aim lower. And was succcesfully caught a fish on his next try. He was very happy he caught the fish with his spear. It was like victory for him. We will find out more of the story later.
The next pages of "The Girl Death Left Behind" was still really emotional. Beth is moving into her auntie's place. She didn't want to go because of the accident that happened to her family. She still really is depressed, well who wouldn't be after what happened. You whole family died in a car accident and your left behind.
She didn't agree at first but her auntie Camille convinced her anyway. She said goodbye to Teddy while they were playing basketball. Teddy hugged Beth because he's going to miss her a lot. Marcie wasn't there yet, so teddy asked her that he'll say goodbye to Marcie for her. Then she left.
Winter came and she wrote a letter to Marcie telling her how's she's doing and what's going. She's said that her uncle doesn't come home most of the time and that they eat dinner without the uncle and that she's really pissed of Terri and the mom fighting constantly. To I don't think Beth is actually having a good time. Well that's it for these pages. I'll update next time (:

J.T. does not like the idea and tries to convince Brady to just to get rid of the drill. Its funny because one night before he went to sleep the stone was making noises and he was getting irritated with it, and put it on the shelf. every time he closed his eyes the stone would make even more noises. Suddenly the noise stopped and the stone started cracking from the base, then the cracks met up at the tip of the stone and out popped a beak. The stone shattered and there it was a baby dragon with light blue scales and wings that stretched out longer that its body. Eragon gots a baby Dragon YO!

Okay continuing from the last part. The girls got home form Katelyn’s rosary and Hayley seems to be really wondering what happen to her. That night she was sitting in the dining table and she started to feel something like someone is trying to talk to her. She closed her eyes and tried to feel what she’s getting. All of a sudden, she started getting a vision of someone chatting with a guy name Cullen and it was Katelyn. The guy was saying how he finds her very interesting and pretty which Katelyn didn’t believe cause she never thought anyone could feel that way about her. Then suddenly, Taylor popped out of nowhere and scared the crap out of Hayley. Hayley told Taylor what she saw, how Katelyn was chatting with a guy online. The next time around, Taylor thought to herself that it was her turn that maybe she might get something if she tried what she’s done before. The girl’s weird power is that they can view the future, Hayley by vision and Taylor by hearing. They don’t know how but if they started feeling things it ends up being true. So it was Taylor’s turn and she has this thing for staying underwater for the longest time and she gets something out of it. She did it in her bathtub and she started hearing words.
So I'm continuing from the last part. Natalie calls Daisy and asks her to help her cook. She explains to Daisy that she has never cooked before. Natalie was trying to cook for her boyfriend Slim, the "invisible guy that I talked about in the earlier comments. It was kind of weird when Daisy came over because her grandma was like some kind of witch. She did magic stuff as it said in the book. As she left Natalie's house, Daisy saw glowing green light coming out of the greenhouse in the lawn. Daisy decided to eavesdrop and saw Natalie's grandma doing magic with her magic wand. She was shocked, but she left and ran home before Natalie's grandma can see her. The next day, Ryan called Daisy and they agreed for a date at the outdoor theater that just opened. As they were there, Daisy saw vampire couples. Wolfgang came and started bullying the vampires, which could have started a fight. But Ryan stopped it and chased Wolfgang and his other werewolf friends out of the place. The next day, Daisy and her sister Poppy decided to watch movies at home together and bond. When the movie ended, they cooked brownies and while it was cooking, Poppy decided to train Daisy to control her telekinesis. But as they were doing that, they heard werewolves snarling. They thought it was far, but it was actually near them. The werewolves attacked them, but they managed to get inside the house. That's the end of page 60.

ReplyDeleteThe next pages of "The Girl Death Left Behind" was still really emotional. Beth is moving into her auntie's place. She didn't want to go because of the accident that happened to her family. She still really is depressed, well who wouldn't be after what happened. You whole family died in a car accident and your left behind.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't agree at first but her auntie Camille convinced her anyway.

ReplyDeleteThe next pages are starting to me more interesting because Eragon figured out that the Strange stone was actually an egg.

“ Envy by Gregg Olsen” pg. 46-60
ReplyDeleteOkay continuing from the last part.
"Dead is so Last Year"
ReplyDeleteSo I'm continuing from the last part.
